A fiancée visa is known as a K1 visa. It is a non-immigrant visa that will allow your foreign fiancé or fiancée to travel to the U.S. to marry their U.S. citizenship sponsor. The K1 visa expires in 90 days; there are no extensions for this, no exceptions.
Eligibility
A marriage visa is known as an immigrant visa; this allows a foreign spouse of a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident to live and work in the U.S.
This is a conditional resident visa; this visa is for spouses married less than two years. Generally, the spouse can work in the U.S. within months of receiving their green card.
This is known as an immediate relative visa; this visa is granted to spouses who have been married for two or more years. The spouse can work immediately when they arrive in the U.S.
You can become a citizen through naturalization if you are a lawful permanent resident (green card holder).
You must meet certain requirements, including:
The process of naturalization is based on the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA).
The Immigration and Nationality Act (INA) was enacted in 1952. The INA collected many provisions and reorganized the structure of immigration law. The INA has been amended many times over the years and contains many of the most important provisions of immigration law.
The INA is contained in the United States Code (U.S.C.). The U.S. Code is a collection of all the laws of the United States. Title 8 of the U.S. Code covers "Aliens and Nationality."
